
Air Services International, a subsidiary of
the M. Demajo Group were recently appointed as Sole Representatives
of Air China in Malta.
Air China sales office was officially
inaugurated on Wednesday 12th March 2003 by the Ambassador Extraordinary
& Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to
the Republic of Malta, H.E. Yang Guirong, in the presence of the
Honourable Minister of Tourism Dr. Michael Refalo, the President
of the M. Demajo Group Mr. Ronald M. Demajo, the Chairman Mr. Joseph
M. Demajo, the Chairman of Air Malta Mr. Louis Grech and the Managing
director of Air Services International Chev. Godwin A. Miceli.
After the inaugural ceremony, the dignitaries
were hosted to lunch at the Casino Maltese.
The newly established China National
Aviation Holding Company has a fleet of 119 aircraft including 42
wide-bodied passenger aircraft like the 747, 777, and the Airbus
340. Air China operates 307 international and domestic routes. Air
China’s main objective role is the promotion of exchanges
between the Chinese people and the world.
Thanks to a special pro-rate agreement between Air Malta and Air
China, Chinese visitors to Malta can fly to any of the European
points to connect with Air Malta flights to Malta. Equally, passengers
from Malta to China enjoy the same facilities.
